My name is Dr. Steven Orloff, I am a Practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine with over 15yrs of clinical experience. I am a graduate of both Monash and Victoria University, having degrees in Anatomy, Physiology and Chinese Medicine. I have been around Acupuncture since my teenage years, developing a keen interest in how an ancient medicine is so effective in treating modern ailments. Through the course of my practice I have had the opportunity to treat players from the Western Bulldogs Football Club, gaining great insight into treating sports injuries.
I am a Registered Acupuncturist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and am also a member of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA).
My interest started about 20 years ago when I began training in Chinese Kung Fu at the age of 14. My Dai Sifu (the Title of the Headmaster of my school), is an acupuncturist and herbalist for over 30 years. Through the course of my martial arts training I have had to learn basic Chinese Medicine theory to complete assignments related to my gradings. Over the years my interest and passion in the medicine grew and I began studying it at university. During this time I became the apprentice of my Dai Sifu and have followed him around in his clinic for years watching and learning under his expert tutelage.
I established Acupuncture Clinics in Camberwell and Parkdale for nearly 10yrs, Moving to Berwick in 2016 to take over my teacher’s clinic since he has recently retired.
Having done Chinese Martial Arts for over 20 years I’ve experienced my fair share of strains, sprains and serious injuries. The upside to all these injuries though is that it has given me keen insight into finding the root cause of other people’s pain, having had similar woes myself.
I have a particular interest in Digestive Health, as I feel this area is often over looked and critical to long term health. Modern life I feel is way too complicated, and people are neglecting the basics in a constant desire to try and fit more in to each day. This I feel leads to high stress levels and takes a toll on people’s digestion which affects there quality of life.
In my clinic I strive to be the best Acupuncturist I can be for my clients, I am very passionate about helping people and Acupuncture in general. I use my knowledge of Western Physiology as well as my extensive background in Chinese Martial Arts, to help give my patients different perspectives on life and health, to try and help them in journey through life.
